For next class please bring in the following materials for a bookbinding workshop...

03. Bookbinding Thread
04. Bone Folder
05. 24 8.5x11in sheets of paper

We will measure and punch holes into our signatures using your awl. From there, follow the instructions in the video tutorial above. Use the remaining class time to create a text block with three signatures as demonstrated in the video. We will review your results as a class.

Background
You will be sewing signatures together to create a text block. This text block will be covered similar to the references we discussed in class. There are many tutorials you can reference and follow on the internet, including the video above. The book binding method you are using is considered “kettle stitch” binding.
