Collection: Design
Final Collection Catalog
Continue to design your collection catalog considering your object as a whole. Spend your time designing your publications grid, typographic system, pacing and organization. Print your publication in it’s entierty and bring it to class double sided and loosely bound with binder clips. We should be able to flip through your publication as if it were near final. Consider the core tennents of book design, and make sure you have a solid foundation for the following:
Book Design
— Format and thickness
— Proportions of Spread
— Margins & Grid
— Typeface Selection
— Text Setting
— Paper, Printing, Production
— Binding
— Front & Back Covers
— Object Quality as a Whole
To recap, your catalog must include:
— 50 documented objects
— cover design
— contents page & category title pages (if applicable)
— page numbers
— collection statement
