Assignment 06
Site Specific Typography
Using only typography, send a message at a specific location. Your message should communicate something to the passerby. Your typography should be printed, constructed or projected by any means necessary. It should not be permanent.
Timeline
Week 13—11.27.18
Three Concepts
Bring in 3 concepts you would consider executing. Define your message and goal. Explain what you want to say, and how you want to say it. Lastly, consider a location and how the message is interacting with the environment. Context is just as important as design. For class discussion print the following on 11×17.
1A flat vector of your typography
2A 3d schematic or example of materials
32 renderings of the experiment in–situation
Week 14—12.4.18
Production
Create your typography and bring this experiment to class fully constructed.
Week 15—12.11.18
Execution
Between this week and next bring your typography to your site. Photograph it in–situation. Take images, video, and attempt to document people interacting with your message. Use a high quality camera, this documentation is a key component to this assignments execution. For class create a PDF presentation of your documentation.
