Visual Concept
Read the assigned short story “One Day, I Will Die on Mars” by Paul Ford and develop a french-folded book that should relate to the text. The book should be at least 12 pages (5 spreads), plus a front and back cover (cover not included in page count). The page size should be 8.5×11”, spread size 11×17”. The book must be french folded. Your cover and binding type is up to you (soft cover, hard cover, screw post, Japanese stab, etc.). The full text must be represented in the book. You must generate at least 3 visuals to accomidate the text.
The goal of the assignment is to develop a visual concept responding to the content. Either it be in artwork generated to visually communicate the story, or the way you design and organize the text... any way you see fit, the strategy is up to you.
Your cover is incredibly important. Make sure it explains the story, either in a visually compelling or conceptually sound way.

Round 01
Bring in all 12 pages plus your cover printed in color. Print it as a booklet so we can thumb through your design. It should be loosely bound so we can take apart your spreads, use binder clips. Make sure your front and back covers are fully considered.
Round 02
Bring in your final book, printed and bound.
